I have been thinking, this is a forum about writing, and we don't have a "General Writing Topics" section. Let me explain: We have a "General Chat" section, but it is more about the forum and about its members, or about writers and writers' point of view and not about writing. We have a "Beginnings and Endings" section, where you can talk about your work in progress, a "Help!" section, that is oriented to give you the opportunity to ask others for advise, but what about if you have something that doesn't quite fit in those categories, but it is still related to writing!

Yes, we have the "Fiction" and "Non-Fiction" supra sections, but each section is tied to a very specific genre. What if I want to discuss more about style, or text extension, or stuff like that, that are a bit away from any particular genre, but about literature in general, or writing style and techniques?

So, I propose the creation of a "General Writing Topics" section! I am going to post a topic about "Page Count vs. Word Count" that I consider it is a good example of what could be on this section. For now, it is in "General Chat".

Do we have any other opinions out there on this?

It is only a suggestion! It's just to keep the topics better distributed... but at the end a suggestion and nothing else!

Seems a lot more constructive of a section, but I'm not sure. It really seems like it could just stay in gerneral chat.

My problem with it is that most things now seem to be going to General Chat. That's not such a big problem now, but if we get to have ten or twenty times the traffic we have today, it would be crazy to have so many post in the same forum.

Well let us wait until we have more than five main posters. That seems the logical side.
