I'm doing a little story on internet addiction. I'd like to know some of people's favourite internet slangs, and I'd like to know more about the lives of internet addicts. I've tried asking 4chan and 7chan, as per suggestion, but it hasn't produced much for my notes.

Well, I am a "little" addicted to Facebook and webcomics.

My life on the internet is I tend to spend hours on Facebook and even more hours searching for webcomics.
Facebook started for practical reasons; I wanted to stay in touch with my family and friends in other parts of the world. I still use it for that and find the interaction with my cousins’ fun.

Webcomics, for the longest time it was just the comics, Least I Could Do and CAD.

Yeah, that’s how is began, if it helps.

Hmm. Maybe that's where it can start for my character. Mind if I steal that as an idea?

One guy on 7chan said that he drove his car to a parking lot every weekend of a few hours so that his parents would think that he had friends. I'm taking that as an idea for Wired, the internet story.

Thanks. It's just going to be a short one, like all the other stuff I've been doing lately.

Short stories at least help you build the whole pyche of "okay I CAN finish a story". Better to write some short drabble than be overwhelmed by a novel project.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking.

It can also help to make sure you don't get boring when describing something for pages and pages.

What I am talking about it the way the a few pages on nothing but descriptions while decent writing get tedious and dull.

I'm not really that descriptive. My stuff is dialogue-heavy, not so much description-heavy. I leave a lot to the reader's imagination.

I love you all the more then. I adore dialogues. Ask Ainaeisn, my favourtie bits of her writing have been the dialogue.
