I know that some will disagree when I say that these two authors should have gotten Nobel prizes, especially Asimov. Never have I been more absorbed in someone else's writing than with these two masters. Their work has taught me more about psychology and our world than all the classes I've sat through. I know I am coming across as unrealistic, but I don't care.

If I had to recommend one book of Asimov's, it would be Robot Dreams, which is actually one of the many anthologies of some of his short stories. As for Card, I can't decide between Ender's Game or Speaker for the Dead.

I started reading Asimov through his mystery short story collections. I read one of his memoirs (I, Asimov) and fell in love with his work. Admittedly, I haven't read as much of it as I would have liked to. I'm working on it.

jamsey can probably relate to my "favourite" orson scott card tale. course, when an auther like that makes the foray into comics.... :D

Yes. he worked on one of marvel's alternate universe titals - the universe is called the Ultimate universe - a reimagining of the marvel U in the 90's and 2000's the title he was asked to write for was Ultimate Iron man.

Indeed, Indeed, tho the origins of ultimate iron man and the giving him the regeneration thing was a bit much

I don't suppose you would know how much it deviates from the original text, if any?

From what I read of The Last Gunslinger and the comics, it's pretty on track, but thena gain the frist DT series was werid enough that no comic embellishment is needed.

I wonder if it is a trade now...if it is i can see about buying a copy for you, L.

Trade Paperback. It's when they publish a bunch of comics in a series as a collection. It's how I buy about half my comics.

Usually a single story arc is covered within a trade

Well that's a little strange, unless you are not really a comic book person
