Of course he does. He's been through hell with you, don't take him for granted.

Going back to the original topic of the thread... Writer's block. I would say that one of the things you could do is... write. I think that for the most part, when we get writer's block, it is not that we don't have any idea of what to read. We just don't have an idea that we like.

If you are writing a piece of historical fiction about one of the slaves of Cleopatra, and at some point the best you can think is about getting him or her abducted by aliens... well, you probably don't want the definitive version of the story to go that way, but for the time being, maybe that step allows you to think about the story itself in a way that allows you break the block.

Now, I think most writers tend to have more than one project in mind at the time. If you have the time and no ideas for your main project, go to one of the alternative ones. It may help!

Yeah! I kinda get the idea. Nevertheless, among laughs, we can find a serious topic to joke around, can't we?

David, I see where you're headed -- actually, I feel about the same, really. I was hoping for a little serious discussion amidst the jokes, and so on.

As for writer's block, David, what would you do if you had the sort where you only write a sentence or two at a time? I get that a lot.

Well, I am not totally sure. You see, I am, I think, more amateurish than Tramp and you when it comes to writing, at least judging from the little I have read from the works of both of you.

In any case, what do you mean as you can write only one or two sentences at the time? If you can manage, force yourself to write more than that. If you're writing only two sentences, try to write four, even if they are so bad that you'll have to re-write them. If you're writing four, try to write eight, and so forth.

I was always to told write and if you hate it burn it later. In that doesn't work, "go read something" Mrs. Adams, Grade 11 english teacher.

Writing more -- goes nowhere. If only 2 sentences want to come out, that the end of the session.

Reading -- sometimes I can't get in to it, and even then, that doesn't make the flow come back.

Changing the story maybe? I mean, having a secondary project there, so, if you don't know what to do in one, you can do something with the other? others?

It doesn't work, eevn if I write a totally DIFFERENT story; I could be trying to go from journal to script, I'll still be blocked.
