Here's a thought: we do a zine. We collect stories, articles, and poetry from our collections/write them up for this; I put it together on Adobe Acrobat, print/staple copies and distribute them, give David the file to print/distribute on his end.

Good idea? It would be infrequent, unless we really got in to this.. but it could still be fun. Tramp could ream out the politicians, David could dazzle us with his prose, Earmuff could woo the public with her poetry, THE SUPER SEXY JAMESY could wow us with a joke-poll -- or extend Isotopes with a paper-audience, Tef could do a review -- comic, movie, whatever, and I could write a short story.

Depending on participation between members, we could have varying wordlengths for each piece.

All we really need to debate is a title. "The Questionable Quirk" doesn't have a good enough ring, nor does "I Am Fibby Anne". Ideas, anyone?

This, coupled with a couple of fliers around town/David's area, could be an awesome way to get people to join the forum.

Okay, it look slike this is going to be called Questionable Collective.

All I'm waiting for now is for Tramp to give me a reaction as to what her thoughts are, and for people to start sending stuff in.

Sorry L. My dad wiped the computer. I like the idea but it probably needs to be discussed a bit before.
It could be fun though.

About a decade ago, when I tried to do a zine (related with puzzles and similar stuff) I realized that if you really want to do something, even if it is periodical, it should be dealt with at least two years of advance. That doesn't mean that we have to start now and not publish for two years, but, let's suppose that we want to do it seasonal (Four editions a year), then we should have enough material to publish at least eight edition before going out with the first one. Why? Because at the beginning of a project like this it is easier to find stuff, and if you don't have it all ready, people loose focus, etc. But if you have it already, then it is just print it and go. Besides, with that much anticipation, things come your way to keep it going.

In my case, we only had for two editions, and the third never saw the light. Besides, the university took away our funding.

I wonder if we could collect that many stories from people.

Clever amrketing is what it will take...that or a couple well placed "project" announcements on DA.

Yeah almost anything on DA will wet itself at a chance to be recognised.
