A friend gave me a book recently to read. It's called "The Rug Merchant". This friend had recently lend me another book I didn't particularly enjoy, therefore I didn't really have much expectations about it. But it really really surprised me. This first time novelist really did a good job with this book.
It is the story of an Iranian immigrant in New York, and his problems with his wife living half the world away, and this cute New Yorker college student in his life. It's a modern story, but very well written. I recommend it! Has anybody else read it?

Someone gave a critic on an online news paper saying that besides the main character, the rest were flat. First, I didn't felt them so absolutely flat. A bit shallow, maybe, but not flat. Besides, given the way the story is presented, I think this shallowness is rather justified, and it would be strange if it was otherwise.
If you check it out, let me know what you think about it. It's recent (It was published for the first three years ago) so, I suppose it may not be in every library... but maybe you're lucky!

It's only in a library in the next town over. I'll put a hold on it after I get though what I already have.

I saw it in a local bookstore last week. If you can't get it from the book store, let me know.

I can't afford it from a bookstore. I need to pay too much stuff back, first.

I found it in a book sale recently, at a ridiculously low price, so, I bought one copy for me (I read it from a friend's copy) and a couple of copies to give away. I already gave one away, I have one! Did you receive my previous letter? If so, I could send it by mail!

Yes, I did -- I'm writing you a reply still. I'll send it closer to the end of the month, when I can afford postage.

That's good. I sent you the book (The Rug Merchant) today. It should arrive in ten days or less. Let me know when it does!
