It's a toss between Dean Koontz's Midnight Carnival (I dun know the real title), and John Grisham's The Brethren. And maybe some VC Andrews...
Top of the crap pile must probably be Andrews. The one about the stepdad and the mother/aunt/adopted mom who makes pottery doo-dads.
___________ Title edited upon suggestion of T.

"I Capture the Castle" was pretty fucking terrible. At least Andrews has a plot, albeit a terrible one. Castle was a diary about nothing and a bitch's sister fucking her fiance's brother whom she hated, then back nothing. Then ending with the bitch getting the rejected fiance.

And to think, that was recommended to me.
How bad was Little Criminals, again?

Augh jeez I hated that book too. It was just so bad and so goddamn bland even with heroin and mushrooms and hookers.

The punctuation sucked for most of the book.

Ditto the last book that I got. Strangely, I think my bookstore guy thinks I have weirder tastes than reality dictates. This last recommendation was for "Hunted Past Reason" - Richard Matheson. It was.. depressingly lame; there's an anal rape scene that just bothered me more than it should have. I seemed unprovoked; the bad guy is relentlessly insane -- no real reason, no real foundation, and the good guy is one of those metaphysics doofs. Normally, this could be a good set-up, but it's just depressing how much I want the good guy to die, and the bad guy along with him.
It's like Lolita for me. Neither character satisfies any side of me.

It's a wee bit soul destroying. We should change the thread topic ot "BOOKS THAT HAVE TAKEN MY SOULD AND RAPED IT IN THE FACE".
A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly I thought was shite terrible. I read it twice and I still can't tell you what the fuck happened. Honestly, can't even remember the main bitches name, only that she was a female. Of course my harpy mother bought me the book and she never bought naything that didn't have a a va-jay-jay as a main character.

No, it was Little Women and Laura Ingalls Wilder (the little house series was amazing, in my opinion.). The kind of books with nice, sweet not-beating-up-boys-and-acting-like-a-bull-lesbo ladies.
Little women was a good one though. Decent well rounded characters and a bloody brutal twist in the only boy's love life involving brutal rejection.
Tom Clancy pisses me off as a wrtier, does that fit here?
The man oversimplifies everything and has to repeat everything you think he was aiming ht estory at three year olds.

Hmm.
I haven't read anything that distinctly raped my face lately. I'm sure that will be remedied soon...
